Fluorometholone is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the affected area red, swollen and itchy. INTRACORT-TM is used in the treatment of bacterial eye infections, Eye swelling, pain & redness caused by surgery, infection, allergies, injuries, or other conditions.
